Moroccan Products Shine at SIAL ME

The Agricultural Development Agency Morocco (ADA) organized the Moroccan participation in the 9th edition of the International Food Trade Fair SIAL Middle East, being held from December 10th to 12th in the United Arab Emirates. The sixth consecutive participation is a part of the implementation of an ambitious strategy by the Agriculture Development Agency Morocco, which acts within the framework of the Green Morocco Plan, to marketing and promoting the local products and development of new markets. This sixth participation testifies he eagerness of the ADA's strategic objective to penetrate Moroccan local products in the Middle East market since 2013. The persistent participation of Morocco at SIAL in previous years rewarded Morocco companies more than twenty contracts valued at 9 million Dirhams.

This long-term strategy helped local companies in connecting with potential buyers’ and large purchasing centers of the local market with a great interest for Moroccan products including argan, saffron, olive oil, aromatic and medicinal plants, prickly pears, rose water, dates and couscous, among others.

This year, the Kingdom of Morocco will be participating with 24 exhibitors representing around 110 cooperatives. The exhibitors will benefit from more than 250 B to B meetings held alongside the Fair with prospective customers to introduce Moroccan products in the Middle East market.

Prior to the event, the exhibitors benefited from the needed marketing assistance delivered by the ADA to enable them to better position their products and prepare them for the business meetings at the Fair.

Commenting on the participation, El Mahdi Arrifi, Director General of the Agricultural Development Agency in Morocco said: “The participation in SIAL Middle East this year aims to capitalize on the achievements of its presence within the previous editions, along with attesting the importance of the Middle East market for the Moroccan food sector. Morocco's participation in this event highlights the quality and diversity of Moroccan products.

Built on an area of 320 sqm, the Moroccan pavilion will immerse visitors in a lively tasteful world, rich in colors and scents. Thanks to the animation created around the local products, the Moroccan pavilion reflects the richness of the Moroccan culture and land.An array of Moroccan products and brands were displayed during the first day at the Moroccan pavilion such as couscous, olives, cactus derivatives, aromatic and medicinal herbs, spices, dates, olive oil, saffron and honey.
