Clean Up Arabia to Raise Awareness on Marine Environment Protection

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hazza Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, the 14th Clean Up Arabia campaign will be organised on November 20 and November 21, 2009 at various locations in Abu Dhabi. Jointly organised by Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) and Emirates Diving Association, and supported by GASCO Diving Club, ADMA-OPCO and Noukhada Adventure Company, the voluntary event is aimed at raising public awareness about the negative impacts of marine debris on human health and marine environment. The campaign, which includes a number of clean up and public awareness activities, seeks to collect trash and debris from beaches and key dive sites. The clean-up of Eastern Mangrove will take place November 20, and Al Mirfa Fisherman’s port and public beach on November 21 with the participation of hundreds of volunteers including students and divers from all over the region.
