The Emirates Falconers’ Club started its activity in 2001 and rapidly expanded its services to the UAE community. In 2003 it participated in the UAE Hunting Exhibition and distributed literature for falconers, as well as serving coffee at the Exhibition in an impressive Arab Hunting tent with some live falcons and saluki present.The Emirates Falconers’ Club objectives include the promotion and support of sustainable hunting methods. The Club also aims to provide information and advice for its members on various aspects of falconry and keep them up to date on hunting regulations and guidelines. Activities include: Organizing awareness workshops to demonstrate sound principles of falconry, including health and welfare of falcons, training and hunting methods and traditional values. Organizing lectures on falconry-related issues such as tracking and communication technology, camping and desert driving, and first aid preparations for hunting trips. Publish and distribute to Club members updated information on hunting regulations and guidelines. Inform members about the houbara life cycles, migration patterns, ecological diversity, threats to its environment and ongoing conservation. Providing facilities including a fully equipped retail store for falconry and hunting equipment, falcon-moulting quarters and a majlis.
