In today’s world, the concept of ‘marketing’ majorly impacts our lives and we might not know it but AI (Artificial Intelligence) plays a huge role in Marketing. The evolution of AI and big data analysis combined with marketing have made it possible for firms and organizations to see a clearer picture of their target audience. Technology in the 21st century is highly advanced and because of that, consumers have certain expectations when it comes to shopping online or physically shopping. This is where marketing techniques come in and how AI helps enhance these techniques. 

Let’s say a customer is browsing through your website and has doubt on shipping prices or delivery dates. AI can be used here. Instead of the customer calling up the company and being kept on hold, it would be much more convenient if a Chat Bot was present on the website and ready to answer questions. Chat Bots run on scripts that contain generic questions one might ask.

Suppose a customer is browsing through an online shopping website and continuously searches for shoes, the AI embedded within the website can keep track of certain keywords like ‘black’ or ‘size 9’ and based on these keywords, social media websites or news websites can advertise shoes of the exact type.

Visual based searching can also be used for marketing. For example, based on the user’s search history, the website can recommend images of pieces of clothing that match the user’s dressing style. It works the other way around as well. A user can search for an object of interest by searching for it via images of it rather than text. AI’s image recognition ability is used here. 

AI and marketing can also be used for product pricing. Based on user search history for let’s say, flight tickets, the website can filter out certain ticket prices and recommend a price range that is most suitable to the user. This makes the entire process of purchasing price tickets much quicker. This is a concept known as ‘Dynamic Pricing’.

Segmentation of groups can make marketing and advertising much easier for the marketers. AI can recognize patterns that the human brain cannot and based on these patterns, several groups can be formed. Each of these groups have a different set of interests and accordingly the website can advertise something that is of interest to that particular group. 

To conclude, AI is extremely essential for marketing, marketers and customers. The entire process of purchasing and advertising becomes efficient and convenient. So, the more the website of a brand uses AI, the more satisfied the customer becomes and consequently word of your brand is spread.
