The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) celebrated the United Arab Emirates 40th National Day by inviting staff and their families to join in a fun-filled celebration at the Armed Forces Officers Club yesterday. The event, attended by several hundred employees and family members, was organised to embrace the nation’s rich heritage and multicultural society reflected through ENEC’s diverse workforce.
Afternoon activities represented all aspects of the Emirati culture, inclusive of falcon displays, henna stations, Yola performers and Emirati musicians, in addition to handcrafters and heritage art performers. The audience also heard from UAE cultural expert Ali Al Saloum about the UAE’s rich heritage, history and tradition.
“We are extremely proud of our country and the achievements the UAE has made over the past 40 years,” said Mohamed Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer of ENEC. “Under the guiding principles of His Highness the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the leadership of our president His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan the UAE has transformed into a forward-thinking and modern nation with strong growth and opportunity for all.”
“At ENEC, we are committed to supporting the ongoing economic development of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates, through our contribution to the nation’s energy supply and human capacity development. This event offers an opportunity to reflect on the Nation’s past, celebrate the vibrant UAE of today, and look ahead to the continued peace and prosperity of the State. It also recognizes the impact all of our staff are having on the Nation’s economic development and acknowledges their valued contribution.”
The event also offered an ideal opportunity for families to learn more about nuclear energy, the UAE peaceful nuclear energy program and ENEC; and for the company to raise awareness about the role it will play in diversifying the UAE’s future electricity supply through the use of models and exhibitions.
