Abu Dhabi Global Market, ADGM, the international financial Centre, has announced the creation of a new Talent Hub in Abu Dhabi specifically for financial services, to position Abu Dhabi as a regional centre of excellence for financial services talent development.

The initiative aims to increase access to and the development of human capital in the finance sector. The Talent Hub will promote professional excellence by enhancing knowledge, standards, compliance, ethics and innovation in financial services, as Abu Dhabi establishes itself as a regional center of excellence for talent development within the sector.

The Talent Hub has four components. The key component of the initiative includes attracting and working with leading academic and professional institutions to be part of this journey and to establish a presence in Al Maryah Island. International business schools and professional institutions will be able to set up their offices and presence, in the Island, providing financial related programmes, while certification providers will ensure access to continuous professional development for financial services in the region.

Other components of the Talent Hub include the formation of a research and endowment committee to commission and publish economic research relevant to the region, as well as an ongoing programme of seminars, workshops and conferences, to build knowledge across the industry, and position Abu Dhabi competitively within a global economy. To date, several well-attended events have been hosted as part of the seminar programme, with the next scheduled in early May, run by an international banking group.

Commenting on the initiative, Ahmed Al Sayegh, Chairman of ADGM said, "The financial sector is an important enabler of economic growth, not only for Abu Dhabi, but for the UAE and the wider region. By expanding our professional development offering on Al Maryah Island, we will help to cultivate a highly-skilled workforce, and ensure Abu Dhabi is an attractive destination to pursue a career in finance."
