Yas Mall, the leading destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, hosted a series of outstanding celebrations in honour of Chinese New Year this month to delight and engage local communities and tourists from across the region. The event was attended by HE Ni Jian, the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE, who inaugurated the festive parades and performances that took place throughout the mall on the 25th of January.

HE Ni Jian, the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE, commented: “We are delighted to inaugurate this special and heartwarming occasion at Yas Mall. Abu Dhabi is an extremely popular destination for Chinese tourists and there is also a huge Chinese population living in the city and so it is wonderful to see how Yas Mall is bringing together the entire community to celebrate Chinese New Year.’’

Saoud Khoory, General Manager of Yas Mall, commented, ‘‘We are proud to have gathered  such an enthusiastic crowd at Abu Dhabi’s leading retail and entertainment destination. At Yas Mall, it is a priority  for us to ensure that we engage visitors of all markets; particularly Chinese residents and tourists. We are constantly looking to engage our communities with a variety of activities celebrating the cultural diversity in the UAE.

Building on the huge success of last year’s special event, this year’s three week celebrations saw Yas Mall transform into a Chinese cultural heritage and festivities hub, complete with red lanterns and Chinese decorations. Visitors also enjoyed calligraphy lessons, Chinese language workshops and sugar painting sessions, in addition to traditional Chinese performances of kung fu and awe-inspiring acrobatics performances. Education and learning is a key priority for Yas Mall, and to mark this special celebration, Yas Mall partnered with The Confucius Institute in Abu Dhabi for anyone interested in learning the Chinese language

Yas Mall also launched the ‘Shop & Win’ Promotion, giving visitors a chance to win a variety of prizes when simply making their everyday shopping. With every purchase of AED 400 at any outlet within Yas Mall, shoppers are given the chance to win remarkable prizes, which have been displayed on the traditional Chinese ‘Tree of Wealth’ at Town Square. As part of this promotion, the shoppers will also automatically enter a raffle draw to win one of 4 gift cards worth AED 10,000 and an Etihad Airways business ticket, the raffle draw will take place on 31st Jan, 2017 at town square.

Yas Mall has made a very exciting start to 2017. Throughout the month of January, visitors got the chance to receive incredible promotions across a number of popular and favored retail outlets. In addition to the promotions up for grabs, Yas Mall unveiled the opening of the one and only Malaysian Coffee Shop ‘Papparoti’.
