One of Thailand’s most important holidays, Loy Krathong, is Abu Dhabi-bound again, as The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi and the Royal Thai Embassy tie up to bring modern experience of Thai food and entertainment to the capital.
In celebration of Loy Krathong – the annual festival celebrated in Thailand where decorated ‘lantern baskets’ are floating along a river – Sontaya, the hotel’s Southeast Asian restaurant, will offer special exotic flavors as part of a five-course dinner created by the venue’s Thai Chef de Cuisine, Peter Peerapong.
Dishes include Full Moon Night, a shredded prawn salad with organic egg, spicy caviar, prawn dust and lime dressing with fresh Thai herbs; Tantalizing Boat which features grilled octopus, crispy tofu skin crab roll, toasted eringi mushroom and spicy tamarind sauce; and The Elegance of Flowers, a jasmine ice parfait with butterfly pea flower sorbet, crispy rice berry, smoked merengue and flowers.
This special menu is available only throughout Loy Krathong from 18th to 28th November, 6:30pm – 10:30pm, and is priced at AED 300 per person.
All prices are subject to 10% service charge and 6% tourism fee. For reservations call 02 498 8888 or email restaurant.saadiyat@stregis.com.
