Susan Sarandon is the guest of honour at today’s panel discussion ‘Reel Women Power’, hosted by MEIFF director Nashwa Al Ruwaini.
Panellists for the debate are Carole Bouquet, Laila Ulwi and Yusra.
Focusing on the image of women in regional cinema, and the challenges facing women working in this industry, the debate will also raise the subject of who the main female players in the local industry are - what contributions they are making, as well as asking what still needs to be done.
The debate will be followed by a screening of documentary ‘Shape of Water’ by Kum Kum Bhavnani, narrated by Susan Sarandon.
