The 19th edition of the International Jewellery and Watch Show (JWS) - Abu Dhabi, the region’s premier jewellery and watch event, concluded yesterday having received thousands of visitors over five days. The exhibition saw 140 exhibitors from 18 counties presenting their latest and most unique line of designs. The show hosted exhibitors from Brazil, USA, Italy, Spain, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, India, Jordan, KSA, Lebanon, Thailand, Turkey, in addition to the significant presence of regional companies.
The Exhibitors highlighted the importance of their participation in the exhibition as a platform to grow their respective brands in the region. The show, which was held in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), has already received commitments from nearly 80 per cent of exhibitors to be part of the 20th edition in 2012. A significant number of these exhibitors have also requested an expansion in their pavilion size next year. JWS 2012 is scheduled to run from May 1-5, 2012, organisers REED Exhibitions said.
Commenting on the exhibition, Ara Fernezian, Group Director at Reed Exhibitions, said: “We are pleased with the success of this year’s show and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our exhibitors and visitors for trusting our exhibition, and the Abu Dhabi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) and Abu Dhabi Business Women Council for their ongoing support to us.
He added: “Despite the international price of Gold being at its peak levels lately, our exhibitors were able to keep a strong sales momentum throughout the show days, underpinning JWS’s potential to support their sales and growth targets in the region.”
Rohit Dhamani, Director- Wholesale & Manufacturing of Dhamani Jewellery said: “JWS is one of the best shows to get direct access and exposure to our potential customers in the Gulf. It is a high quality show and we will definitely be part of it next year. We made some good deals and we are pleased to see our clients coming back to JWS to purchase our new designs year after year. JWS gives us an ideal opportunity to learn more about the needs and tastes of our local clients, which contributes widely to an increase in our overall annual sales.”
In addition, commenting on the exhibition, Kavita Bajaj, Owner of Monique Creations, said: “We are based in New York and we don’t have distributors in the UAE. Therefore, the exhibition is an ideal platform for us to interact with our potential customers in the UAE. We are pleased to see our old clients coming back to us every year in JWS. We will definitely be part of the show in 2012.”
Manoj P. Butani, Director of Butani Group said: “We have been distributing our jewellery in the Middle East for the past 40 years, and we believe JWS is an excellent platform for us to strengthen our regional reach. This year, for the first time we are distributing the collection under our name ’Butani’ and the response has been great.”
Raya Dandal, Show Manager at Reed Exhibitions, said: “This year’s show met our expectations as organisers, and we are encouraged by the responses from exhibitors and visitors. We believe JWS brings the right mix of high quality products and visitors. We believe that the 20th edition will further build on the success of this year’s show and hopefully exceed our expectations.”
The Jewellery and Watch Show is one of the prestigious events organised by Reed Exhibitions. The event is in line with other leading international jewellery events that REED exhibition organises, including JCK in Las Vegas, United States.
