(17 July 2017)

On the sidelines of the Sharjah Summer campaign, which was launched by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), Sharjah Museums Department organizes “Happy Holiday Camp” -- a fun and exciting program where children can develop their skills and talents through entertaining and interactive creative activities.

Kids of all ages are expected to have their own fill of fun and enjoyment as they take part in the many activities offered by the “Happy Holiday Camp”, which includes workshops, games, arts & crafts and other activities aimed at teaching them more about the emirate's rich culture and history. Participants will also take part in visits around the Sharjah Museum and also across other fun and interesting sites featuring breath taking landscapes that strengthens the UAE’s position as a must-see tourist destination.

HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA commented saying: “This exciting new campaign is the first of its kind to be launched in the Emirate, aiming to promote and greatly benefit the tourism sector. The Sharjah Summer campaign stands as a true reflection of the great strides Sharjah is taking towards enhancing its efforts to strengthen this sector, in adherence with strategic framework implemented to raise Sharjah’s position in the tourism sector, both regionally and internationally.

Meanwhile, Manal Ataya, Director General, Sharjah Museums Department, revealed that the camp is expected to drive in more visitors to the museum. "The ‘Sharjah Summer’ campaign, which is being launched for the first time by the SCTDA, offers a full line up activities. In fact, museums are expected to receive large numbers of families and children from the state, as well as visitors of various nationalities, particularly from the GCC."

The inaugural edition of the Sharjah Summer campaign was launched on June 27 and witnessed the participation of 28 officials from Sharjah’s government and private sectors. The event features events, educational and creative programs, and workshops for different age groups that also cater to the disabled, to enrich the cultural experience for everyone.
