The Imagine Abu Dhabi initiative, launched by the Abu Dhabi Government, has received 2270 submissions within 25 days of its launch, allowing all social segments to propose ideas for various aspects of development in the Emirate.
The submissions which were received in several languages covered various fields and sectors in the Emirate, including proposals on investment opportunities, service development, education, health, culture, arts, etc. The ideas are innovative and creative and seek to encourage initiative that can help achieve the vision of a knowledge based and innovative economy.
Dr. Fahd Matar Al Neyadi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi General Secretariat of the Executive Council said in this context: “The Imagine Abu Dhabi initiative has opened new opportunities for social responsibility and partnership between government entities and the community in Abu Dhabi and the Emirates. From the first few days after its launch, the initiative has gathered significant interest and shown how keen people are to participate. This reinforces Abu Dhabi’s standing as a platform that fosters creators and innovators from all segments and nationalities. Partnership with the community will shape a brighter and better future for Abu Dhabi.”
He added that Imagine Abu Dhabi underlines a development stage based on collaboration and continuous common efforts with the aim of driving development in the Emirate. It highlights the increased social awareness in Abu Dhabi of the important and constructive role the community plays in development. The size of submissions received from the very first days of launching the initiative shows how enthusiastic the Abu Dhabi community is for contributing to all aspects of life in the Emirate.
The Director General of the GSEC then emphasized the important role entities and institutions working in various fields play in encouraging the community to participate in the initiative. They can also benefit from the initiative’s various promotional platforms and encourage people to submit their ideas, visions and initiatives for the future of the Emirate, helping to enhance Abu Dhabi’s standing as an integral destination that meets all the needs of its citizens and residents.
The public will still be able to submit their ideas on the ourabudhabi.ae website by filling in a participation form. Proposals that meet requirements go through several stages of examination and are evaluated by a dedicated team before being categorized according to set standards.
Proposals that meet the initial requirements are referred to a team of experts in government work who will prepare an initial study. A feasibility study is then conducted covering economic, social and environmental aspects.
The best proposals are shortlisted and their owners are asked to give visual presentations in front of government entities and their officials about each proposal and its implementation of the ground. They are also honored for their ideas that support development in the Emirate.
