The Top Rated Tourist Attractions in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is a highly ordered, industrious city with a stunning waterside location. The first tribe to inhabit the area was the Bani Yas tribe, way back in the 1760s, and until the discovery of oil in the area, it was nothing but a small fishing village. Today, it is a bustling center of business and governance, as well as a major tourist attraction hub in the region. If you are planning on going for renewing my passport services and travel East, Abu Dhabi should be up high on your list of places to visit, and here are some of the top attractions you should check out.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - Just as the name suggests, the mosque literally fits the definition of the word Grand in all aspects. It is a landmark you will never miss in the city, and being the biggest mosque in the UAE, it is a major tourist attraction in the area. The mosque brings together design and construction elements of the Ottoman, Fatimid, and the Mamelukes, resulting in a harmonious and highly intricate Islamic architecture. Both the exterior and interior displays the deep skills of the artisans who intelligently used intricate carvings, mosaic tiling and glass-work to give the mosque the spectacular designs we see today. The most became operational in 2007 after being in construction for slightly over two decades and it has a capacity to hold up to 40.000 worshippers.

The incredible mangrove Kayaking tours - If you are in Abu Dhabi, then the mangrove kayaking tour is a must. The area still has a mangrove forest that surrounds the entire island and you can get a variety of kayaking tours available as you shall desire. You can go for one and half hour tours or you can go for three-hour tours. During the tours, you will not just enjoy paddling and gliding slowly in the kayaks, but also you will learn about the role that the mangroves are playing in that ecology. If you really want to have the best experience from the tours, then you should consider going for the night tours, which are not only adventurous but highly enjoyable.

Visit the Ferrari World - Ferrari World is a branded theme park in Abu Dhabi and it is what brings the thrills of Formula One racing to the region. If you are a thrill seeker, then there is a lot you will enjoy in this park. For small kids, there are the junior tracks where they can test out their driving skills. For the adrenalin junkies, get your buckles on for a ride on the Flying Aces rollercoaster. The roller coaster reaches top speeds of 120 km/h and has a 52-meter tall loop which is equivalent to the tallest building in the world. You will also have a chance to see a collection of Ferrari cars, including models dating back to 1947. Most interestingly, there is a Ferrari factory tour as well as a Ferrari knowledge game show for true car enthusiasts. Once you are done with the visit at this theme park, you will feel as if you are the most knowledgeable person on earth about Ferraris.

Boat Tours - If you want to see just how magnificent Abu Dhabi's skyline is, then you have every reason to head for the waters. As you drift from the Marina towards the ocean, the views of the high rises become clearer and more spectacular. There are several boat tours that will meet just any budget, but two of the most popular ones include the sunset cruises and the island hopping tours. With the former, you will get a chance to see the city's lights come to life as the sun sets in the far horizon, while with the latter, you get a chance to visit several islands and engage in water sports activities such as snorkeling.

Observation Deck 300 - The Observation Deck 300 is Abu Dhabi’s equivalence of Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It is the highest point in the city, thus guaranteed to give you a great view of the city’s skyline. It is accessible from the Etihad’s Tower hotel, on the 74th floor. If you are not a guest at the hotel, then you will have to pay an entry fee, though you can redeem the ticket's fee by buying foods and drinks at the deck's restaurant – you will find lots of light bites, snack and soft drinks that will complement the usually hot afternoons. Then there is also the high tea experience: enjoying the tea with the beautiful views of the city spreading down below. This experience alone is sufficient to hassle for renewing my passport services and head over straight to Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital - If you love animals and you keep some pets at home, then you should never miss visiting the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital. This is a vet hospital for taking care of injured and ill falcons and is also offers guided tours of the facility for those who are interested in being shown around. The tours are designed to give more information about the birds and also learn about the interesting history of falconry. If you are brave enough, you may hold or feed the birds, depending on what will be going on at the facility when you visit.

Yas Water World - If you feel too much heat, then you can always head over to the Yas Water World to cool off. This is a mammoth theme park, with a waterslides as well as inner tube river ride. You will be interested to learn that Yas Water World happens to be the first hydromagnetic tornado water rafting ride in the entire world. If you think you are an adrenalin junkie, then this is a wonderful place to test just how brave you are by testing the plethora of the gigantic water features, including the world’s largest surfable sheet wave.

Emirates Zoo Park - If you traveled with the little ones, then the Emirates Zoo Park would be a nice place for a fun day out. The park is the home to a variety of animals, including the rare Siberian bear, zebras, elephants, giraffes and the white tiger. The park also has a primate's section with different kinds of monkeys, sea lion enclosures, and a flaming park.
