’Jashn-e-Awadh’ is a celebration of the legendary Music and Dance of Lucknow that flourished under the patronage of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah.
Wajid Ali Shah, better known as the last king of Awadh, was a passionate and talented artiste himself. A gifted poet, playwright, dancer and musician, he is credited for reviving and popularising Kathak, a renowned form of Indian classical dance. Light classical music forms, such as Thumri and Ghazal, flourished in his passionate mehfils. Lucknow truly became an epitome of art and culture under his regime.
’Jashn-e-Awadh’ is a musical tribute to this king of classical arts! Using complementing shades of music, dance and drama, the show presents a contemporary narrative on Lucknow’s musical heritage.

Hailing from Camden Town, London, England, Madness are a ska band that formed in 1976. They are one of the most enduring and beloved English bands to ever come from the late seventies and early eighties and quite possibly the world’s biggest 2-Tone band.
Their early success started with their album ’One Step Beyond’ (1979) which stayed in the British charts for 78 weeks, peaking at number 2. Most recently, the band has been locked up in the studio finishing their new album ‘Can’t Touch Us Now’ due for release soon. The exciting upcoming tour will see the band showcase new tracks from their forthcoming album as well playing all the classic hits and fan favourites. They are a band to be seen as soon as possible!
