Methaq Donates Dh 3 Million To The UAE Red Crescent Authority

Meethaq Takaful Insurance Company has offered zakat money of Dh 3 million to the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA).

Mr. Abdullah Al-Maamari, Managing Director, Methaq Takaful, presented the cheque to HE Ahmed Humaid Al Mazrouie, , Chairman of the RCA’s Board of Directors, at the RCAs’ headquarters in Abu Dhabi today, in presence of HE Mohammed Khalifa Al Qemzi, RCA Secretary General, and Mr Khalil Ghneim, Methaq’s General Manager.

On this occasion, Mr. Al-Maamari, assured Methaq Takaful’s commitment towards its Sharia obligations and said:
"We are keen to give the zakat money to the concerned official bodies in the UAE to take the responsibility of distributing it to the needy and beneficiaries through their Islamic banks."

"The RCA," Al Maamari added, "plays a significant role in helping needy families and the poor in the country. Its activity expands all over the world in an effort to reach out to the poor and the needy wherever they are. This is why Methaq decided to give a 3 million dirham zakat amount to the RCS in support of its efforts and initiatives."

He pointed out that Methaq Takaful is fully aware of its social responsibility obligations, and it is always keen to paying zakat on time, in addition to offering donations and aid as a part of the social responsibility it shoulders towards local and global humanitarian issues and social solidarity and its commitment to support community development endeavours.

For his part, Al Mazrouie stressed that Methaq Takaful had always been a major partner and supporter for the RCS’ humanitarian initiatives and developmental projects that aim at assisting and alleviating the suffering of the needy inside and outside the UAE.

He further expressed RCA’s gratitude and appreciation for Methaq Takaful’s valuable and prominent initiatives, which will deeply reinforce the RCA’s efforts in various local and global arenas.

It is worth mentioning that Methaq Takaful has already donated Dh 500,000 to the UAE’s RCS in support of its campaign dubbed "Awnukum" (Arabic for Your Help), which was launched with the aim of reaching out to the victims of the floods in Pakistan to alleviate their sufferings.
