Following the success of last year’s Yas Pro Drag Racing Series, organizers have announced that the series will return to Yas Marina Circuit for a second season. The season will consist of four rounds commencing in March, and running through until May. With a full count of cars, the prize pool will total over AED 920,000.

“We are very excited to launch the second season of the Yas Pro Drag Racing Series. It is one of the most prominent drag racing events in the Middle East,” said Rashed Al Qubaisi, Head of the Yas Drag Racing Centre.

This series will consist of six entry categories including the Pro Modified, Super Pro 7.5 Index, Pro Bike, Super Street Bike, PRO 6 and Super Street. The drag racers will compete on a distance of quarter mile (400 meters).

In the Pro Modified category, organizers have amended the rules to allow cars utilizing automatic transmission, a 40 lbs weight reduction, which will help to maintain parity between competitors.

Al Qubaisi continued, “The series is expanding every year in terms of local and regional participation, and I encourage Drag racing fans to come down for some adrenaline fueled action.”

In addition to the on-track action, spectators will get the chance to ride in the world’s fastest three-seat Super Comp dragster.
