A tourism expert said the UAE Capital, Abu Dhabi, is one of the top tourism destinations in the world due to its huge tourism infrastructure and services.

Elias Sarkis, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Sands Hotel, said that the emirate of Abu Dhabi was currently witnessing boom in the tourism sector, indicating that efforts were underway to make Abu Dhabi the top tourism destination in the region, especially in the areas of international conferences, entertainment and shopping.

Sarkis noted that Abu Dhabi hosts the sports and arts events, which have scoring successes at the regional and world levels.

He expected that hotel occupancy would be high, citing the holding of conferences, exhibitions, F1 races, cultural and arts festivals, as well as sports events, the UAE’s 40th National Anniversary and new year eve celebrations.
