The National Election Committee announced the preliminary list of candidates who have registered on the first day for the Federal National Council elections to be held on Sept. 24, 2011.

The total number of registered candidates on the first day is 129 from across all the UAE.

The number of registered candidates in the different emirates is: Abu Dhabi – 27; Dubai – 36; Sharjah 29; Ras Al Khaimah – 16; Ajman – 10; Umm Al Quwain – 7, and Fujairah 4.
