Top Belgium Chef Blends Science With Flair For First-Of-Its-Kind Dining Experience.

If you thought science was just for geeks, then think again. Chef Sang-Hoon Degeimbre - owner of the two-Michelin-star Brussels restaurant, L’Air du Temp and pioneer in molecular gastronomy, the science of blending ingredients to create unexpected tastes and textures – is making his Middle East debut tonight in what is expected to be a talking point of the 16-day Gourmet Abu Dhabi culinary festival.

Renowned for his tantalising food creations, Chef Sang-Hoon is hoping to create a big reaction tonight at Al Raha Beach Hotel as he – for the first time - blends his molecular gastronomy know-how with top mixologist duo – Thomas Anostam and Ben-David Sorum from Sweden – to create the ultimate taste experience.

And with Anostam and Sorum – from Flow Cocktail and Hyde & Seek Gastro Bar in Thailand – using their signature flair and panache to create special blends to suit every taste, guests tonight will be in for a first-of-its-kind epicurean and entertainment experience.

“This is a new challenge for me and one I am very much looking forward to. Making cocktails and creating dishes are very similar in technique and very methodical in approach. A bit like science. We both use our knowledge to create a reaction, an experience, which has a positive effect. This is what will happen tonight,” said Chef Sung-Hoon, who scientifically blends ingredients to create unexpected tastes to surprise patrons.

Chef Sang-Hoon, who scientifically designs dishes to excite and engage the taste buds, is one of 17 International Masterchefs - with 22 Michelin-stars and three Chefs Hats between them – headlining the more than 57 events rolling out across 29 host venues in 14 of the emirate’s leading hotels.
