ADTA Touch Screen Information Kiosks Get Upgrade Over 1.8 Million Use Facilities In 2010
(16 January 2011)

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority is upgrading its 31 multi-language, touch-screen information kiosks which are dotted around key visitor locations in the emirate in a second expansion phase.

The upgrades include a facility for users to send information by email or SMS direct from the kiosks which are a one-stop bank of visitor information for attractions and facilities throughout Abu Dhabi emirate. Under the phase 2 expansion of the kiosk programme all the information, which is provided in English, German and Arabic, is being updated and the look and feel of the presentation is being refreshed.

“Much has happened in the destination over the past year and it is essential that the kiosk information reflects the renewed dynamism within Abu Dhabi’s tourism industry,” said Saeed Al Dhaheri, Visitor Services Manager, ADTA.

The authority is also planning to expand its kiosk network targeting a total of 34 to be in place by the end of the year.

ADTA figures just released show that last year some 1,831,753 people used the kiosks with the most popular being those in Al Jimi Mall Al Ain, Abu Dhabi Mall and Marina Mall.
