Kings of Bahrain, Spain, and Sheikh Mohammed attend launch of F1
(13 November 2010)

HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, HM King Juan Carlos of Spain and H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, witnessed today the first day event and trial for the launch of the F 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit. The races will last for three days.

The launch ceremony was also graced by sons of King Hamad Sheikhs Abdullah, Nasser and Khaled along with top senior officials and dignitaries.

While watching the event from the Sun Tower - a VIP area with panoramic views of the race, Sheikh Mohammed and his royal guests stressed the importance of hosting such international sports events as a global a vital platform and bridge of relations of cooperation and friendship and exchange of common human cultures between peoples of the world.

The Bahraini and Spanish monarchs commended the substantial efforts the UAE organisers had made to render the race a success.

Scores of thrilling races were staged in day one.
