Thuraya Signs Service Provider Agreement With Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom

Thuraya has signed a new service provider agreement in Taiwan with Chunghwa Telecom to provide mobile satellite operator’s services in Taiwan and the neighbouring region.

The main market segments that Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s largest telecommunication operator, will focus on will be the disaster prevention and restoration, maritime and global travellers who are key customers of mobile satellite services.

"Partnering with Chunghwa Telecom to extend Thuraya services to the Taiwanese market will enable several market segments to communicate reliably. We look forward to providing our maritime and voice services through robust solutions that are supported by a world-class network that covers Taiwan and the surrounding areas including the waterways," said Thuraya’s Chief Technology Officer, Ali Al Mazrooei.

Chang Ching-Tsung, Managing Director of Satellite Department of Chunghwa Telecom said, "Thuraya’s offerings are an ideal communications partner for customers in Taiwan as they are modern. People who require mobile satellite services at sea or on land can easily benefit from Thuraya’s products which we expect will roll out rapidly."
