UAE, OECD Sign Memorandum Of Understanding

UAE and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) signed here on Friday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) related to developing and understanding MENA countries international tax agreements for the years 2010 to 2012.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of 15th Annual Conference of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), held in Paris between 23rd and 24th September 2010.

UAE’s official delegation to the conference was led by Director General of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) Younis Haji Al Khoori.

Representing UAE, Al Khouri signed the MoU while Jeffrey Owens, Director of the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration (CTPA) represented the OECD in signing it.

Members of the UAE delegation Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Executive Director of International Financial Relations Sector at MoF, Majid Ali Omran, Director of International Financial Relations Department, Dr. Hamed Nasr, Economist at the MoF and Rashid Bin Kalban, Director of Legal Affairs at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority were present at the signing ceremony.

The two parties had signed earlier a similar MoU to for the years 2007 to 2009 which dealt with organizing workshops focused on best global practices for building strong tax networks in MENA region through the UAE centre.
