Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has confirmed its commitment to go ahead with development of the Shah Gas Field Project in spite of the decision made by Houston-based Philips to pull out from the gas project joint venture agreement.

It said in a statement today that the Shah Gas Field Development is a world-class project that will develop a key resource for the emirate of Abu Dhabi. ADNOC has awarded the preparatory works’ contract to the project site during March 2010.

It added that ADNOC plans to award five engineering works, procurement, construction and operation contracts in the near future.
