H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Dr. Whang, Chairman of the South Korea-based GL Rapha Group, today signed an agreement to set up the Emirates Biotcehnology Centre for the treatment of stem cells.

Under the agreement, a centre for the treatment of malignant neoplasm, stem cell surgery and immune cells treatment of tumors, will be established as a joint stock limited company.

The centre, the first of its kind in the GCC region, will begin operation after one year. Plans are underway to open similar centres in the GCC countries.
