NCEMA, GIA Ink A Deal
(10 November 2009)

National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) and General Information Authority (GIA) signed here today a joint agreement at the UAE Armed Forces Officers’ Club.

Present at the signing ceremony were Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Director General of the NCEMA and Salem Al Shaer, Director General of GIA.

Commenting on the agreement, Al Rumaithi said that the agreement "comes in line with the directives from HH Sheikh Haza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser to coordinate and exchange expertise between the two authorities to set up highly advanced geographic information system".

He declared that the NCEMA was about to set up database for the geographic information system to help competent authorities take appropriate decisions.

On his part, Al Shaer said the deal is a model in the information and expertise exchange to be emulated, adding that "it will boost cooperation between the two sides in service of our dear country under its wise leadership".
