(24 October 2009)

Gearing up for the world’s first day/night Formula1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, the Higher Security Committee has chosen 850 young Emirati volunteers from men and women to perform various duties during the event.

Reflecting the country’s tradition and civilisation, the volunteers, who are grouped into 50 divisions, will work with dedication at different service points receiving the guests in a show of true hospitality and cordial reception.

Maitha Al Habsi, Director of the Takatof Volunteer Programme at the Emirates Foundation said that the volunteers are being trained to take up tasks relating to hospitality within and outside the circuit and introduce them to the roles and responsibilities incumbent on the volunteers.

The Higher Security Committee and the Takatof had held the first round of coordinative meeting to streamline the volunteering activities.
