(12 August 2009)

The Arab Youth Venture Foundation’s latest CSR program created for The Petroleum Institute’s “Summer Achiever’s Program” got underway full throttle and included a multitude of engaging programs for its young participants - male and female Emirati National teenagers ages 14 to 16.

The recent seminars conducted by the Arab Youth Venture Foundation were aimed at the building of robots and programming for special missions; NASA simulations such as air traffic control; and the MarsBound! project created by NASA wherein teams of students were tasked with designing a spacecraft based on their stated goals of a Mars fly-by, orbit, or landing working within a $200 million ‘budget’ for the challenge. Such activities marked the start of the The Petroleum Institute’s six week program, for ‘Summer Achievers’, now in its fourth year.

Lisa LaBonte, CEO of AYVF affirms, “The Seminar and Forum conducted by AYVF met with very positive reception and the talents and enthusiasm of the teenage participants, quite impressive. PI’s Summer program for youth is commendable and we believe will provide positive impact on these young minds as they contemplate their future careers.”
