Masdar, Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Education Council sign MoU

Abu Dhabi Future Company "Masdar" signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with both the Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Education Council to develop different educational programmes through encouraging study programmes of the sustainability and renewable energy sciences.

Signed by Masdar, which is owned by Mubadala Development Company, an arm of Abu Dhabi government investment, the MoU specifies the framework to benefit from expertise of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company in regard to the educational programmes. The Masdar Institutes for Sciences and Technology, which was developed in cooperation with Massachusetts Institute for Technology, is an exemplary institute for graduates of the UAE schools- being one of the specialised institutes worldwide specialised in the renewable energy research fields.

Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Education Minister HE Humaid Al Qatami, said "our partnership with Masdar is an exemplary forum for joint work. Hopefully, it will have impact in developing scientific future of our children. It is the first time to introduce the specialised sustainability and renewable energy study programmes to our students.

Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, CEO, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company "Masdar" said, "the road to sustainable future starts with education of our future generations about vital fields such as sustainability, climate change, energy security and clean energy".
