The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Centre for Waste Management, Tadweer, has conducted the Yas Beach Clean-up Campaign aimed to remove various waste and leftovers from residential areas and beaches in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

The campaign reflects the municipal system's keenness to provide clean beaches, protect the maritime environment and maintain the appearance of Abu Dhabi beaches.

The municipal campaign, which succeeded in collecting over 3 tons of solid waste, dumped by Tadweer at landfill sites, saw the participation of scores of municipal employees at Al Shahama and neighbouring areas, in addition to hordes of residents and beach goers.

The campaign reflects the commitment of the municipality to translate its environmental mission into practice, and highlight the importance of keeping the environment and beaches clean.

The municipality highlighted the importance of preserving the environment in general and maintaining the civilised appearance of cities in particular.
