Amateur Football Clubs Get AED50 Million From UAE President

President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered that AED50 million be given to amateur football clubs in the country to develop their infrastructure and sports facilities. The gesture reflects the President’s commitment to and unstinting support for sports and the youth sector. It also aims at improving the skills of UAE sportsmen and women to boost their competitiveness level in regional, continental and international competitions. Sheikh Khalifa’s decision underscores his determination to bring great development to the sports sector as part of the comprehensive development the UAE is currently witnessing in various areas. It also seeks to boost the professionalism steps taken by UAE football. The UAE Football Association has begun taking the necessary steps to implement a financial support programme for clubs that would benefit from the latest gesture of the UAE President to improve their sports facilities.
