UAE Mobile Hospital To Assume Maiden Mission Next Month

Inauguration of the Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital at the UAE Armed Forces Officers’ Club ushers the country’s medical relief into a new impressive phase for delivery of advanced curative programmes, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. ’’By launching this health initiative, the UAE reiterates its sustained efforts to extend medical and humanitarian assistance to those in need across the world,’’ Sheikh Hamdan said in an address at the opening ceremony today read on his behalf by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. ’’The hospital will stay three to six months in the area it visits. Equipped with advanced medical technology and manned by high medical practitioners, the hospital will reach out to patients and injured persons in disaster-hit regions’’he explained. He affirmed that services would be primarily offered to patients who could not afford treatment expenses. The hospital complements the Zayed Chairity Initiative which was launched in 2003 to give hand to needy patients, underprivileged population and those affected by catastrophes. Khadeem Al Derai, head of the Hospital’s team, said the hospital would commence its maiden trip abroad in April
