Mohammed Instructs Allocation Of Dh 4 mn For Purchasing Books

HH Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Education Council, has instructed that Dh 4 million be allocated to students and undergraduates to help them purchase books from the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. The 19th edition of the cultural event got underway today. Sheikh Mohammed’s grant will also include the distribution of 1,000 children’s bags that contain 10 newly published books each. The ten children’s translated literature titles are published by KALIMA’s translation project. Juma Al Qubaisi, Director of the Fair, said Sheikh Mohammed’s gesture aims at nurturing the art of reading among young generations in order to raise the bar of their knowledge. ’’We have immediately started distributing the grant with the inauguration of the fair. A mechanism has been worked out with the Abu Dhabi Education Council and beneficiary universities to allocating purchasing vouchers,’ he added.
