Warehouse Fire In Al Musaffah Brought Under Control

Civil Defense teams managed to put out a fire that broke out in a warehouse in Mussaffah 13 area. Three firefighters sustained injuries in the incident and were taken to Al Mafraq Hospital for treatment, two of them were being treated for smoke inhalation.

The Civil Defense headquarters was alerted to the fire at about 10.10 am on Monday. Firefighting units from civil defense fire stations in Al Mussafah M14 and Al Mussafah M33 were immediately dispatched to location, after receiving notification about smoke billowing out of a warehouse in Mussaffah area, and started to bring the fire under control, supported by units from Mohammed bin Zayed, Al Qubeisat, Al Wathba and Al Maqtaa stations. All of the teams collaborated and managed to put out the blaze and prevented it from spreading to adjacent warehouses. Investigation is still underway to determine the circumstances of the fire.

Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate called upon facilities, owners and tenants of warehouses to abide by storage safety rules and maintain cleanliness; stressing upon the importance of carrying out periodical maintenance for fire extinguishers to prevent fires.
