Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and President of Baniyas Sports Club, praised the wise decision of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, and Honorary President of the UAE Football Association, to support the bid of His Excellency Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, former Chairman of the UAE Football Association to run for membership of the AFC Executive Office, as the UAE’s representative.

HH Sheikh Saif hailed the decision to nominate His Excellency Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, who has a considerable expertise and a longstanding record for contributions to the UAE football sector, as well as an extensive knowledge of Asian football and potential challenges.

It is worth mentioning that Al Rumaithi has a distinguished sporting relationship with a number of Asian and international football officials; and his tenure as member of the AFC Executive Office would benefit Asian football significantly and represent an added value to this prestigious forum, chaired by Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, with whom he has a strong longstanding relationship.
