Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, honored First Warrant Officer Omar Merhi Hamid, from the Transport and Workshops Department in recognition of his personal initiative and creative talent in the art of photography. This gesture reflects the police appreciation and personifies it strategy aimed at supporting and motivating distinguished talents and creative national cadres.

Major General Badran confirmed that honoring competencies and creative employees in the various areas of police work comes in line with the goal of implementing institutional excellence standards, achieving the strategic objectives envisioned by the Ministry of Interior, in addition to encouraging job competition, the culture of excellence and high-level professional performance among police staff members, in a bid to motivate others to  follow in the footsteps of creative employees and  develop their personal skills.

It is worth mentioning that First Warrant Officer Omar Merhi Hamid has shown significant creativity in the Art of “Miniature World Photography”; which is mastered by a small number of amateurs and professionals worldwide. In this process, a photograph of life-size objects, people, and locations are made to look like a photograph of a miniature scale model to simulate miniature scene using narrative photography; this comes in handy in several aspects of police work, such as traffic investigation, photography of criminal investigation and crime scenes, as well as in the Security Media’s messages and news.

The honored officer is the pioneer of the creative art of miniature photography at both Arab and GCC levels. He has participated in a number of international exhibitions and forums specialized in this novel art.
