HE Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs met the second batch of MoF employees to be enrolled in the UAE National Service yesterday, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in the presence of HE Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of MoF. The Ministry’s employees will join the programme in December 2014.

During the meeting, HE Al Tayer highlighted that the UAE National Service programme falls in line with the provisions of Article 34 of the UAE constitution, which states that the ‘Defending the Union is a sacred duty of every citizen and national service is an honour for citizens as per the law. HE also drew attention to the Ministry’s keenness to support its employees, encouraging them to portray a positive image and show patience and persistence during their enrolment in the UAE National Service programme, which aims to instil values of loyalty, affiliation and sacrifice.

HE called upon the Ministry’s employees to enhance their personal leadership skills, develop self-reliance and discipline, take responsibility and action, and gain appreciation of time and respect for the law, in order to reflect their values of national pride throughout their enrolment in the programme.

The Ministry’s undersecretaries expressed gratitude to the second batch of employees for their commitment, which represents a good example for the next set of participants.
