Abu Dhabi Traffic Wins Al Dhafra Ramadan Football Championship

The football team of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of  Abu Dhabi Police was crowned champion of the Al Dhafra Ramadan Football Championship organized by Al Dhafra football club, after defeating team Argentina 1-0  at the final match. The championship hosted 27 teams divided into 4 groups, with a number of players from Emirati football clubs.

Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police, said: “Sports is an essential element of police work, as it helps to enhance the physical, mental and psychological capabilities of police staff members. Good job performance requires physical fitness and mental health; and sports can achieve that, because as we say, ‘a sound mind in a sound body’.” Brigadier Al Harithi praised Traffic and Patrols Directorate’s the team for winning the championship, urging the players to make additional achievements and win more championships.

For his part, Major Ateeq Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Sports Committee at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said: “This win reflects the efforts of the police leadership to build sports skills and improve physical skills.”

Present at the closing ceremony were Major Mohammed Saif, Supervisor of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate’s team; Khalifa Al Tunaiji, Al Dhafra club's Chairman and a large crowd of football fans.
