The eight-week Abu Dhabi Festival initiative ‘The Hero Inside Programme: Abu Dhabi’ culminated last night in a dynamic, multimedia comic arts and animation exhibition. Open to the public until Monday 17th March at The Space, TwoFour54, the event showcases works by students from Abu Dhabi schools and New York University Abu Dhabi and celebrates their creative capacity for self-expression through depictions of their personal heroes inspired by family and friends.

Curated by the programme’s Creative Director, Trevor Kweku Blackwood, supported by illustrator Dr Hosni Mojahed, and Emirati actress, filmmaker and founder of Ancienne Majan Cinematographie, Amel Al Marzooqi, the initiative is designed to inspire creative learning, identity and well-being among youth.

‘The Hero Inside Programme: Abu Dhabi’ is part of the Abu Dhabi Festival’s ‘Youth at the Festival’ platform, offering young people the chance to share, create and innovate alongside their peers.
