As part of its mandate to develop Abu Dhabi into a world-class, sustainable destination of distinction which enriches the lives of visitors and residents, the Authority is behind this year’s Ibtikari programme which helps cultivate Emirati entrepreneurial culture and encourages innovation around a specific theme.

A Khalifa Fund for Enterprise initiative, the 2014 Ibtikari programme – now in its second edition – focuses on digital, mobile and media ideas to promote tourism.

Participants have a full day to pitch their tourism-related ideas, join a team, and work together over four weeks, with some ideas being translated into innovative business models.

At the end of the programme, selected participants will be considered for a Khalifa Fund investment.
