Every year since its creation in 2008, the Total ABK-VEDC Academy launches its national recruitment campaign in order to attract young Emiratis seeking a career in the Oil and Gas industry. This year, more than 250 candidates from all over UAE have been invited to appear for the selection tests.

35 candidates are planned to join the Academy as apprentices. At the end of two and half years of educational and practical hands-on work program, the graduates will become skilled technicians (Assistant Wellhead Operator, Assistant Instrumentation Technician, Assistant Electrical Technician and Assistant Mechanical Technician) capable of working on the operations sites.

The Academy graduates are offered positions in Total ABK or other Abu Dhabi oil operating companies such as ADMA-OPCO, ADOC and Bunduq.

Currently, 28 Academy graduates are working in partnership companies, and 20 new graduates will be joining the oil and gas industry in January next year.
