Emergency Exercise At Sir Bani Yas Island Airport On Monday 30th September 2013

Abu Dhabi Airports will conduct a full scale emergency exercise at Sir Bani Yas Island Airport in cooperation with Rotana Jet, on 30th September 2013, in accordance with UAE Civil Aviation Regulations.

The exercise will measure the preparedness of all relevant emergency response agencies and evaluate the emergency response capabilities and implementation strategies of Sir Bani Yas Island Airport. Response teams from various units including airport operations, security, fire and rescue services, police, and medical services will test their collective and coordinated response to emergencies, ensuring that any incident at the airport is managed effectively and immediately.

Built on the scenario of an aircraft incident, the exercise will encompass all aspects of emergency response, including rescue and fire fighting, security, medical services, and internal, external and passenger communications.

The exercise is expected to run for approximately two hours from 11:00 -13:00. During this time, Sir Bani Yas Airport will be closed and will re-open for operation as normal after 1:00 pm.
