ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company) has announced two extra performances of ‘Lord of the Dance’ at Abu Dhabi Hall following growing interest from across the region in the upcoming tour of the sensational Irish dance act.

Tickets for the first four shows which went on sale in April are selling fast and the two additional shows, which have now been scheduled for 26 June, will mean a total of six live Lord of the Dance performances from 23 – 26 June at Abu Dhabi Hall, ADNEC, Abu Dhabi.

The announcement was made during a media briefing held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre today. The briefing was attended by Robert O’Driscoll, Deputy Head of Mission for the Irish Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Humaid Al Dhaheri, ADNEC’s Director of Finance and HR, who reiterated the company’s delight at the opportunity to host the Middle East debut of Lord of the Dance.

Christina Anthony, Special Projects Director, ADNEC who also addressed the briefing said:
“We have seen an overwhelming response to the announcement that ADNEC will be hosting Lord of the Dance in June. Lord of the Dance is a global phenomenon that has smashed box-office records the world over, and it is great that audiences across the region are as excited as we are to see the show here in Abu Dhabi.

“Lord of the Dance is based on a classic Irish folktale and expressed through music and dance. The show transcends cultural boundaries and we look forward to seeing people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds enjoying Lord of the Dance in a few weeks time.”

The media briefing also featured a live Irish dancing demonstration.

Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance is the most critically acclaimed dance tour of all time. This classic tale of Good versus Evil, expressed through the universal language of dance, has thrilled audiences worldwide and catapulted Irish dance to a new dimension. The show features more than 40 dancers who deliver an eloquent and stunning interpretation of one of Ireland’s most famous legends.

Lord of the Dance will be an all-seated performance. Tickets are available at www.boxofficeme.com, www.timeouttickets.com, www.ticketingboxoffice.com and Virgin Megastores starting at AED 295.
