Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, RCA, Abu Dhabi is hosting the Arab Giving Forum and the 3rd Abu Dhabi Corporate Social Responsibility Conference to be held under the theme "Social Solidarity a National Responsibility" scheduled on May 9th at Emirates Palace.
HRH Queen Rania of Jordan, HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia will be honored at the opening ceremony in recognition of their role in mitigating the sufferings of the poor worldwide as well as supporting social care programs.
Day one of the conference will see four sessions on the following topics: corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, CSR and the business community, partnerships among public and private and non-profit organizations, the influence of media on CSR initiatives.
On day two, two workshops will discuss CSR strategic planning, the vision and mission of CSR, goals and plans of CSR, measurement and review of strategic plans.
The meeting is inspired by calls by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for social solidarity and cohesion and realizes the vision of H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces for sustainable social, cultural, health and educational development initiatives and voluntary work.
The meetings will bring together elite intellectuals, ministers and governmental officials and business leaders and will act as an ideal platform for discussing the practical Arab experience in facing challenges and taking advantage of opportunities posed by the adoption of social responsibility principles.
The said gatherings will also provide valuable insights on how to use these principles in accordance with the highest standards and refer to successful experiences as a starting point in implementing the concept of social responsibility within business communities.
