Time to celebrate!

Ushna; the North Indian restaurant based in Souq Qaryat al Beri has been named Best Newcomer of the Year at this year’s Time Out Awards Abu Dhabi, which took place on November 4th, 2009, at Le Royal Meridien, Abu Dhabi.

“The best newcomer award is considered as the Grand Prix of the annual awards,” said Time Out Abu Dhabi, yet another reason for Ushna to be especially proud of this achievement.

Having also received a Highly Commended in the Best Indian Restaurant category – the team at Ushna - who beat other Abu Dhabi-based outlets to the Best Newcomer title such as The Yacht Club, Tiara and Left Bank - are delighted with their achievement, having only been open since June 2009.

With the enormous shaded terrace overlooking the waters of Souq Qaryat al Beri, an elegant venue with attentive and knowledgeable staff serving classic North Indian cuisine – there is no doubt as to why the Time Out Abu Dhabi team have awarded Ushna with this sought-after accolade.

“With strong competition in the Best Newcomer category coming from established outlets such as Sho Cho and Left Bank – we at Ushna are thrilled to have been selected as the winner of this critical category in such important local awards,” said Sasi Ganesan, Restaurant Manager. “Now, not only are our chefs award winning – meaning our Executive Chef Amrish Sood - but now so is our restaurant. We look forward to next year when we can improve on our Highly Commended in the Best Indian Restaurant category!”
