Abu Dhabi Named 2018 Luxury Travel Destination at China Travel Destination Industry Awards
Abu Dhabi has been named the ‘2018 Luxury Travel Destination’ at the prestigious China Travel and Meeting Industry Awards, which were held in Beijing, China. The Emirate was nominated alongside more than 20 other destinations including Switzerland and South Africa, with the UAE capital triumphing to claim the top accolade. The award was presented to DCT Abu Dhabi representatives at a gala dinner in the presence of more than 200 members of China’s travel and tourism industry.
The China Travel and Meeting Industry Awards was established in 2002 and is organized by Travel Weekly China, the country’s leading trade publication.
“We are delighted and honoured to have won this award, which recognises luxury travel provision and our efforts to establish Abu Dhabi as a leader in this area,” said HE Saif Saeed Ghobash, Undersecretary for DCT Abu Dhabi. “Over the past few years, DCT Abu Dhabi has collaborated effectively with strategic partners to enhance the infrastructure, offerings and attractiveness of Abu Dhabi in the luxury travel sector.
“This particular accolade recognises the commitment to excellence which DCT Abu Dhabi strives for as we have continued to improve products and services. We’d like to thank Travel Weekly China for the recognition and for this great honour.”
