Abu Dhabi Tourism is developed by Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company (ADNH). It’s Tourism Division, Sunshine Tours-a Destination Management Company- takes care of all aspects of tourism from promoting the destination Abu Dhabi at international travel industry exhibition to handling all ground services and offering a wide range of excursions such as desert safaris, cultural trips, city tours, shopping trips and water activities. Furthermore Sunshine Tours strongly supports the preservation of culture and heritage of Abu Dhabi Emirate. Part of this philosophy is their brand new Heritage Village in Al Khatem which is one of its kind in the UAE. Abu Dhabi with its luxury hotels, palm-frienged sandy beaches, safe environment, extensive greenery and its surrounding 200 islands has become an ideal destination for conferences and incentive groups.

Here are the most popular of Abu Dhabi’s tourism attractions:

Parks and Gardens, Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has over 20 public gardens, together with hundreds of miles well-laid roads, Abu Dhabi is known as “The Garden City of the Gulf” and has turned the capital into a huge blooming garden, which invites to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city center.

 

Cultural Foundation, Abu Dhabi

The foundation plays a very important role in the cultural life of the Emirate. The impressive building contains a large exhibition area; several lecture rooms, a well organized library as well as a theater. The Cultural Foundation organizes all kinds of cultural activities such as international theater plays and concerts, lectures, art courses such as painting, photography, pottery etc., exhibitions and various cultural events.

 

Handicraft Center, Abu Dhabi

Craft Center of the UAE Women Association, where traditional local handicrafts are made such as the famous tali handwork. Workshops and the exhibition can be visited in the morning.

 

Al Hosn Palace, Abu Dhabi

The Al Hosn Palace known as the Old Fort of the White Fort was formerly the ruler’s residence as well as the seat of local government in Abu Dhabi. The first fort to be built on the site was constructed in 1893 over the fresh water well that was central to the settlement of the island of Abu Dhabi. It is the home of the Centre of Documentation and Research and contains the largest collection of manuscripts dealing with the UAE and the whole of the Gulf Region.

 

Breakwater, Abu Dhabi

For an evening out or an afternoon tea, the breakwater offers a wide range of local specialties in various typical and traditional Restaurants & Marina Mall Shopping Centre. This location allows every visitor a wonderful view onto the Capital’s glittering sky line.

 

Al Ain Museum

The Eastern Frot of Al Ain, built in 1910 was converted into Al Ain museum in the late 1970s. It houses collections of archeological finds made in Al Ain area, together with a variety official gifts presented to the Late President H.H.Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayyan. There are several life-sized exhibits of bedu life, displaying clothes, utensils and recreational objects.

 

Al Ain Camel Market

The only one of it’s kind in the UAE, where both common and race bred camel are bargained over with a great deal of fervor. A unique and important place to visit.

 

Qattarah Oasis, Al Ain

This is a beautiful, small wooded oasis on the edge of Al Ain, which has long history of human habitation with some nearby archeological sites, It has preserved its falaj irrigation system, which is active until today. Abundant date palms and fruit gardens provide a stark contrast to the surrounding desert.

 

Liwa oasis

Famously known as the start of the Empty Qurater – the Rub Al Khali Desert. The Liwa dunes are the perfect location for the latest sport in the UAE- sand skiing . The adventurous can try their luck at sand skiing, dune bashing and high speed pursuits down the larger dunes with all the traditional equipment. A safari in the sands is a memorable experience. The visitor will come across wild camels, traditional Bedouin settlements, irrigated green forest and huge agricultural areas.
